EPA preparing to publish revised Worker Protection Standards

According to the National Council of Agricultural Employers (NCAE), EPA will publish new Worker Protection Standards in the coming weeks.

According to The Hill, EPA recently sent its final rule to USDA for review. Depending on how long that takes, the new rule could be published in late June. Frank Gasperini, NCAE’s executive vice president, said he doesn’t know what (if any) changes EPA made in the original proposed rule as a result of public comments, but the original proposal had many “troubling requirements.”

Here is the original Notice of Proposed Rulemaking from EPA last year and a copy of the comments NCAE submitted in August 2014.
