NASS to survey growers in March

USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will be conducting a survey of farmers in March.

The March Agricultural Survey is designed to obtain crucial information that is important for producers, suppliers, universities and government economists. The survey asks producers to provide information on the number of acres they intend to plant for particular commodities and how much grain and oilseed they have stored on the farm. The results of the survey will give detailed, county-level data on acreage, production and stock levels in the Pacific Northwest and the United States for 2015.

In early March, NASS will sample producers to collect data nationwide. Producers can respond online (the cover letter will include instructions) or fill out the survey questionnaire and return it in the envelope provided, or fax it.

A NASS representative will contact producers who do not respond, via telephone or personal interview.

For more information, call NASS Northwest Regional Director Chris Mertz at 800-435-5883.
