Obituary: Lynne Ann Teach

Lynne Ann Teach, 56, of Gays Mills, Wisconsin, died Aug. 18 after a battle with cancer.

Lynne McDaniel was born in Viroqua, Wisconsin, in 1958 to Gerald and Lucille (Phalin) McDaniel. She graduated from Kickapoo High School and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Lynne married Allen Teach in 1983, after meeting while racing snowmobiles. Allen and Lynne would go on to work together as business partners for more than 30 years.

Lynne taught at Readstown Elementary School, served for 16 years on the North Crawford School Board, served on various agricultural advisory boards and numerous economic development boards. As an owner of Sunrise Orchards, she used her business as a tool to turn others’ lives around. Lynne’s final contribution to this world was actively participating in clinical research, often commenting, “I will deal with this pain so that others will not have to in the future.”

Lynne is survived by her husband, Allen; son Ryan (Bethany) Teach; granddaughter Ellery; grandson to be born in November and a Golden Retriever, Pearl. She is also survived by her parents; her sister Bonnie (Richard) Rosemeyer, their children Angie (Matt) Baranowski and April (Chad) Repinski. Additionally, Lynne is survived by a vast network of extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otto and Elsie McDaniel and William and Freda Phalin.

The funeral service will be held Aug. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Viroqua Church of Christ, 825 Nelson Pkwy in Viroqua, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, Hwy 131 and Sunset Ridge Ave. in Gays Mills, Wisconsin. Online condolences may be offered at www.VossFH.com.
