Bruce Grim Named Executive Director of the Washington State Horticulture Association

Bruce Grim, a long-time grower, tree fruit industry leader and lawyer, has been named executive director of the Washington State Horticulture Association (WSHA) in Wenatchee, Wash.

Grim replaces Jim Hazen, who left earlier this year to become business manager for Broetje Orchards in Prescott, Wash.

According to WSHA President Mark Holtzinger, Grim’s ability to deliver value in all of his previous service to the industry makes him well qualified to lead the association, which has represented the tree fruit industry for 104 years.

Much of Grim’s job will be to advance the industry through both education and legislative and regulatory representation in the state capital. In addition to lobbying, Grim will help organize the annual horticulture conference in December, which rotates year-to-year between Wenatchee and Yakima.
