Buerkle starts ag task force in N.Y.

Beginning in February, some Cayuga County farmers can join others in the industry located within the 25th Congressional District in an agricultural task force headed by U.S. Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle to confront issues that impede food production.

The collective will have “listening sessions” with Buerkle to discuss concerns and issues that impact district farms.

Creating this panel, organizers say, provides a direct conduit to Washington D.C. lawmakers who will make decisions on issues ranging from immigration to regulations handed down from the Environmental Protection Agency. The Citizen
