Farmers oppose bill that could add more background checks for migrant workers

The Michigan legislature is considering new background checks for some workers. It’s called E-Verify. It would require employers to run social security numbers of new employees through a Homeland Security data base. But some say it’s already causing problems in states that are using it and fruit growers in northern Michigan don’t like it. IPR
