Fresh Apple Holdings Down, Processing Up

Here is the U.S. Apple Association’s latest update on the 2009 apple crop, taken from the March 2010 issue of Market News.

March 1, 2010 fresh apple holdings totaled 55.8 million bushels, a 10 percent decrease from last year. Processing holdings totaled 24.2 million bushels, 1 percent higher than last year.

The total number of apples in storage on March 1 was 80 million bushels, 7 percent less than the total for last March.
