Fruit council funds weather tower in northwest Michigan

The Grand Traverse Fruit Growers’ Council recently donated $10,000 to the Michigan Tree Fruit Commission. These funds will be used to put up a weather tower in northwest Michigan to help conduct research on spring frosts.

The council also donated $1,000 to the National Cherry Festival, $1,000 to the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program, and $2,000 to the Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Foundation to be used toward scholarships for young growers.
