Holtzinger becomes The Fourth Leaf Fruit Company

After more than 100 years of operating under the Holtzinger name and with changes in management and ownership direction, the Yakima, Washington-based Holtzinger Fresh Pack begins operations as The Fourth Leaf Fruit Company.

The fourth leaf is when a new apple tree begins to yield significant fruit. As the apple industry economic model evolves toward integration and large industrial operations, the Fourth Leaf Fruit Co. is structured to yield significant benefits to the independent grower, local community and customer.

“This is more than just a name change. This is part of a bold new vision and support for our grower-first mission,” David Henze,  president and chief grower success officer, said on the company’s Facebook page.

“The Fourth Leaf Fruit Company will continue to market fruit under the well-known Royal Purple, Regal Red and Adolfo’s Organic labels. Furthermore, the management team will work to support three main pillars:

  • Secure the success of the independent grower.
  • Promote regenerative agriculture practices.
  • Strengthen the brand promise for the customer”
