Michigan Agri-Tourism Association accepting 2013 membership applications

The Michigan Agri-Tourism Association (MATA) has announced that it is now accepting membership applications for 2013. Members include farm markets, wineries, farmers’ markets, on-farm dairies, corn mazes and others involved in Michigan’s agri-tourism industry.

“Michigan Agri-Tourism Association works to educate people about Michigan’s agriculture industry by communicating the availability of farm-fresh produce and on-farm activities,” said Sara Middlebrook, executive director. “MATA is pleased to represent all segments of Michigan’s ever-growing agri-tourism industry as we work to bring more people out to the farm and advance Michigan agriculture.”

Members of MATA receive a number of benefits with their membership:

  • Inclusion in a statewide directory that is distributed through a variety of channels, including all Michigan Welcome Centers, Michigan Farm Bureau Insurance offices, various festivals, individual member locations. It also is available as a searchable digital edition at www.michiganfarmfun.com.
  • Newsletter to share member news and important legislative information
  • Government advocacy
  • Connection with others in farm marketing and agri-tourism
  • Priority notification and information about events and education specifically related to farm marketing and agri-tourism in Michigan

Memberships are $120 per year and are due by Jan. 1, 2013. Membership applications are available at www.michiganfarmfun.com or can be downloaded here.
