Michigan Grape and Wine Industry Council seeks proposals

The Michigan Grape and Wine Industry Council (MGWIC) is issuing an additional call for proposals for projects to commence Jan. 1, 2018.

The Viticulture and Enology Research and Education Committee’s total budget for 2018 awards increased from $75,000 to $136,000. After an initial review of proposals received prior to the original Aug. 15, 2017 deadline, there is a balance of approximately $90,000 that may be allocated to additional research projects.

Visit www.michiganwines.com to download the Proposal Guidelines Template and to review the Research Priorities of the Council.

Proposals are due no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, to Sherri Goodreau at [email protected].

Funding decisions will be communicated in December, with projects to commence Jan. 1, 2018.

Potential applicants for these research grants are welcome to contact Karel Bush  or Gordon Wenk with any questions about the council’s funding of research proposals.
