SWMREC to host grape grower meeting Nov. 24

Michigan State University Extension will host a grape meeting Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center (SWMREC), 1791 Hillandale Road, Benton Harbor Michigan.

To register, make check payable for $10 per person to Michigan State University (MSU) and mail to SWMREC at above address by Nov. 20.

Join us for a discussion of the merits and risks of own-rooted vinifera. There will be a demonstration of collecting, storing and using hardwood cuttings. We will also discuss layering, creating own-rooted vines in the nursery, retraining winter-injured vines and other relevant and practical topics.

Both experienced and new grape growers are encouraged to attend, and bring questions and production issues for your fellow growers, MSU researchers and crop consultants. To obtain a registration form and for questions, call SWMREC at 269-944-1477 ext. 201. Or call the MSU Extension office at 269-944-4035.
