USApple Leaders Elected

U.S. Apple Association members approved candidates to their 2009-10 board of directors, and the board elected officers for the coming year. The selections occurred during the USApple annual meeting in Chicago in August.

The new officers include John Teeple of Teeple Farms Inc., Wolcott, N.Y., chairman; Julia Baehre Rothwell, Belding Fruit Storage, Belding, Mich., vice chairman; Dale Foreman, Foreman Fruit and Land Co., Wenatchee, Wash., secretary; John Graden, Domex Inc., Wenatchee, treasurer; and Bruce Grim, Marketing Associations, Wenatchee, immediate past chairman.

Denise Donohue, executive director of the Michigan Apple Committee, was named to the board seat reserved for state executives, which rotates annually.

Three board members will serve for the first time: Ken Johnson, Farmington Fresh, Stockton, Calif.; Fred Leitz, Leitz Farms, Sodus, Mich.; and Mark Nicholson, Red Jacket Orchards, Geneva, N.Y.

Remaining directors are George Allan, Allan Bros., Naches, Wash.; Dave Benner, El Vista Orchards, Fairfield, Pa.; Dan Boyer, Ridgetop Orchards, Fishertown, Pa.; Chris Britton, BK Partners, Modesto, Calif.; Bill Dodd, Fruit Growers Marketing Program, Newcomerstown, Ohio; Kelly Henggeler, Henggeler Packing Co., Fruitland, Idaho; Joe Klein, Royal J.
