Apples in storage at 103.3M, 14% more than a year ago

The U.S. Apple association has released itse March 2020 edition of Market News.

This is the fifth report on the 2019 apple crop. According to the survey, this year’s fresh apple holdings on March 1, 2020, totaled 74.4 million bushels, 14% greater than the inventories reported for March 1 of last year. 

According to Mark Seetin, US Apple’s director of regulatory and industry affairs, processing holdings totaled 28.9 million bushels, 13% greater than last year on March 1. 

The total number of apples in storage on March 1, 2020, was 103.3 million bushels, 14% greater than last March’s total of 90.8 million bushels and 6% above the 5-year average for that date.
