Blueberry council publishes SWD pest control manual

As part of its educational work, the Good Practices Committee of the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) has published “Spotted Wing Drosophila Controls: A Systematic Review.”

The report, which can be downloaded in a PDF format from the USHBC website, identifies key research and projects underway or published on control of Spotted Wing Drosophila, a pest known for troubling blueberry growers.

It provides background on SWD, methods used to monitor and manage this insect and results. Website sources for more information on SWD are included in the report as well as a list of pertinent papers on the subject.
