Brandt starts 2021 with series of promotions

Springfield, Illinois-based Brandt, a leading agriculture retailer and manufacturer of specialty agriculture products, started 2021 with a series of promotions within its Brandt Agronomic Services and Brandt Dealer Support operating units.

John Allen, VP of Brandt Agronomic Services, takes over leadership of Brandt Agronomic Services which encompasses 26 retail agronomy plants in Illinois and Iowa. Allen has over 40 years of experience across various leadership roles within Brandt Agronomic Services. John and his team will provide direction and strategy to better serve their customers.

Brent Wallner
, VP of Brandt Dealer Support, assumes control of BRANDT Dealer Support, which provides wholesale products, logistic support and service to retail and industrial customers in the Midwest. Wallner, an 18 year BRANDT veteran, brings a wealth of wholesale market knowledge and sales experience.

Allen and Wallner’s new responsibilities went in to effect January 1, 2021 following Tim McArdle’s transition to focus on special projects prior to his retirement. Tim remains on the Brandt Board of Directors.

In other promotions,

Mike Ingram has accepted the position of Brandt Operations Manager. Prior to his new role, Mike was the Brandt Greenview location manager for over 20 years. His years of operational experience will prove valuable in managing  Brandt Agronomic Services equipment and structural assets.

Kyle Wettstein
has been promoted to location manager of Brandt Gridley. Kyle has been a Brandt Field Advisor for the Gridley location since 2016 and has proven himself as a leader. Collectively, Kyle has over 20 years of experience in retail agronomy business.

Ben Winans has been promoted to location manager of Brandt Mount Auburn with the retirement announcement of Steve Hardy. Steve’s combined service with Brandt and Hardy fertilizer spans 48 years. He has been a valuable employee and leader at that location. Winans has over 35 years of agronomy business experience at Brandt Mount Auburn and will continue the top notch  service to Brandt customers. Adam DeClerck has been promoted to assistant manager at Brandt Mount Auburn.

Pat Hermes
has been promoted to location manager at Brandt New Berlin. Pat is a 29-year Brandt veteran and has been involved in all aspects of retail agronomy while in an assistant role at Brandt New Berlin. Pat filled a vacancy left by Joe Hermes who transitioned to a new position as Brandt Crop Protection Manager in Springfield, IL. Brandt veteran, Chris Bergschneider, has been promoted to assistant manager at BrandtNew Berlin.

In announcing the promotions, Rick Brandt, CEO and President of Brandt, emphasized the experience that each of the individuals brings to their new respective roles. “I’m proud that these were all internal promotions,” he explained. “These gentlemen represent the best of the Brandt family and illustrate our deep bench. We are well-positioned to continue our leadership in serving growers and retailers here in Central Illinois and Iowa.”
