The Apple Tree Insurance Program developed by AgriLogic was approved on June 5, 2019, by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) Board of Directors under Section 508(h) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act for implementation. Beginning with the 2021 crop year, the Apple Tree Program will be available in all major apple-producing counties in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York. The first sales closing date (SCD) for the new Apple Tree Insurance Program will be April 15, 2020.

During the development process, AgriLogic worked closely with apple tree growers and other industry persons to develop a program that would meet their unique needs. The program developed by AgriLogic is a tree-based dollar amount insurance with liability being established on a per tree basis. Coverage provided will be similar to that currently provided in other federal tree insurance programs.
