Fresh apple holdings at 131.1 million bushels

U.S. Apple Association has released its second report on the 2017 apple crop.

According to the survey, this year’s fresh apple holdings on Dec. 1, 2017, totaled 131.1million bushels, 9 percent more than the inventories reported for Dec. 1 of last year.

Processing holdings totaled  51.5 million bushels, 20 percent more than last year on Dec. 1.  The total number of apples in storage on Dec. 1, 2017, was 182.5 million bushels, 12 percent more than last December’s total of 163.3million bushels and 18 percent above the 5 year average for thatdate.
