Fresh, processing apple holdings up

The U.S. Apple Association has released its storage data for February 2015:

Fresh apple holdings on Feb. 1 totaled 95.1 million bushels, a 24 percent increase from the same time last year and 35 percent above the five-year average.

Processing holdings totaled 39.2 million bushels, 25.5 percent above last year and 34.2 percent above the five-year average.

The total number of apples in storage on Feb. 1 was 134.2 million bushels, 24.6 percent above last February’s total.
