Gallagher’s Food, Agribusiness names Kluting national director

Insurance, risk management and consulting firm Gallagher has promoted Steve Kluting national director of product recall of its Food & Agribusiness Practice Group.

As a “food lawyer” with 18 years of experience, Kluting helps Gallagher’s food, beverage and restaurant clients prepare for food safety incidents, including product recalls and government enforcement actions. He also manages the negotiation, structuring and placement of product recall insurance coverage and he is a certified Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point manager.

“We are excited to announce Steve’s promotion to the National Director position,” said Glenn Drees, national director of Gallagher’s Food & Agribusiness Practice Group. “This is a reflection of the positive impact he’s has had on his colleagues, carrier partners and food industry clients over the course of his career. Product recall is a significant risk facing our clients, and they rely on Steve’s insight and experience.”

Before joining Gallagher in 2014, Kluting spent more than 13 years with a large corporate law firm, including several years as co-chair of their Food Industry Practice. In addition, he also worked as chief strategy officer for a family-owned food wholesaler and retailer. In this role, he led growth initiatives, served as general counsel and led the food safety team.
