Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association boosts consumer marketing

The Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (GFVGA), announced Jan. 11 the 2022 consumer-focused marketing plan, Every Bite Count!

The goal of this new marketing plan is to educate consumers on the impact and importance of buying in-season domestically grown fruits and vegetables.

“We know consumers want to support American farmers but there is a lack of education on the seasonality of fruits and vegetables,” Drew Echols, GFVGA president, said in a news release. “The Every Bite Counts campaign will be focused on educating consumers about the impact buying domestically grown produce has on local economies.”

This marketing campaign will feature a new consumer-focused website, www.producebites.net, that will contain educational materials and resources for parents and teachers, social media ads and graphics and a Grower Social Media Tool Kit.

“We are most excited about the Grower Tool Kit,” said Chris Butts, GFVGA Executive Vice-President. “GFVGA has been working with growers to be intentional in telling their social media story on social media and this tool kit is designed with the grower in mind. They will be able to use the same graphics that GFVGA is using in this campaign on their own social media accounts. Growers will also be able to customize graphics with their own logos.”

The “Every Bite Counts” campaign was launched at the 2022 Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference during the Social Media Boot Camp Special Session on Thursday, Jan. 6.

GFVGA will be officially launching this campaign in mid to late March, in time for consumers to get ready for the spring and summer growing seasons.
