IFTA gives Pete Van Well Distinguished Service Award

Pete Van Well was presented with the International Fruit Tree Association’s Distinguished Service Award during IFTA’s annual meeting in Pasco, Wash., Feb. 26-March 4.

Van Well has been general manager of Van Well Nursery, Wenatchee, Wash., since 1973. Over the past quarter-century, he has served on a multitude of fruit industry organizations, including the Washington State Horticultural Association, Tree Top Inc. and Skookum Growers.

Van Well Nursery is a family company that has been in continuous business since 1946. The company grows and markets about 1 million fruit trees annually to commercial growers throughout the United States and Canada. Its corporate offices and warehouses are in East Wenatchee, Wash., with growing fields in Wenatchee, Quincy and Moses Lake, Wash.
