Nov. 1 fresh apple inventories at 115.5 million bushels

The U.S. Apple Association has issued its first Market News report on the 2018 apple crop.

According to the survey prepared by Mark Seetin, USApple’s director of regulatory and industry affairs, this year’s fresh apple holdings on Nov. 1, 2018, totaled 115.5 million bushels, 14 percent less than the inventories reported for Nov. 1 of last year. 

Processing holdings totaled 39.5 million bushels, 13 percent less than last year on Nov. 1. The total number of apples in storage on Nov. 1, 2018, was 155.0 million bushels, 14 percent less than last November’s total of 179.6 million bushels and below the five-year average for that date.
