Peach Virtual Field Day in Michigan scheduled for Sept. 2

Michigan State University Extension and MSU AgBioResearch will host a virtual field day highlighting peach research on Sept. 2 from 6-7:30 p.m.

This event will feature video highlights of 2020 stone fruit research trials and presentations from MSU researchers and Extension specialists, followed by time for audience Q&A.

Topics and presenters include:

  • Disease resistance, cold hardiness and fruit characteristics of new nectarine and novel peach varieties
    • Presenter: Bill Shane, senior tree fruit specialist, MSU Extension
  • High-density peach/nectarine training systems and rootstocks
  • Disease resistance, cold hardiness and fruit characteristics of new yellow melting flesh peach varieties
    • Presenter: Bill Shane, senior tree fruit specialist, MSU Extension
