Soil management platform debuts

Researchers in a multi-year project to design and test a platform to support sustainable soil management and increase land productivity will present their findings in a web seminar.

The 3 ½-year project, SIEUSOIL H2020, will conclude with the Nov. 25 online seminar, at 9 a.m., Central European Time, which is 2 a.m. Central (U.S.).

The consortium celebrates the project’s success and the shared China-EU SOIL Observatory platform. Throughout the project, researchers released 86 scientific publications based on findings.

Face the future of soil monitoring and join the event to catch the latest on intelligent soil and land use management, highlighting soil management practices in China and the European Union, according to a news release.

To participate, register online.

“The final target is to support sustainable soil management, increase land and water productivity sustainably, reduce crop yield variability across time and space, and support the policy formulation process,” according to the release. “Innovative practices and tools are tested and their impact is assessed for improved carbon sequestration, soil fertility and land productivity.”
