University of Florida offers Stone Fruit Field Day on April 30

Stone fruit is a term used for fruit like peaches, nectarines, and cherries that have a single seed or “stone” in them. All of these fruit normally require a much greater cold period in the winter to properly flower than Florida can provide. However, peaches and nectarines have been bred by researchers at the University of Florida IFAS that have a low chill requirement to flower and fruit.

Peach and nectarine research is on-going at UF/IFAS and the results of the latest can be discovered at the annual Stone Fruit Field Day, April 30, 2019 at the Frank Stronach Conference Center, UF Plant Science Research and Education Unit, FL2556 West Highway 318, Citra, Florida.
