Weather wreaks havoc on Saratoga County farmers’ fields, crops

Saratoga County farms, inundated last spring by heavy runoffs, are now faced with the double whammy of an unusually wet early September.

Fields already saturated by Tropical Storm Irene have been getting intermittent rains since Sunday, with more in the forecast through early Thursday.

“This is enough,” Saratoga County Farm Bureau President John Arnold said. “What we need now is a two-week Indian summer.” The Saratogian
