The International Fruit Tree Association held its 2016 New York Study Tour July 19-21. More than 250 attendees visited a variety of farms and orchards from Rochester to Geneva, New York, and back. Stops included Ledge Rock Farms, Pettit Farms and a day-long session at the 2016 Cornell University Fruit Field Day at the Geneva Experiment Station. Topics of discussion included targeted spraying, rootstocks and bitter pit, tree training practices on Honeycrisp, and tall spindle plantings.
