UC Extension to host California ground squirrel control workshop

The University of California Cooperative Extension and the San Luis Obispo County Agricultural Commissioner are hosting a workshop on “How to Control California Ground Squirrels in Orchards, Vineyards, Pastures, and Rangelands” from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on March 21. The workshop will be located at the Veterans Memorial Building, 801 Grand Ave in San Luis Obispo, California.

Topics covered will include developing an integrated pest management plan, new restrictions and regulations, proper use of baits, CO producing machines and more. Two hours of continuing education have been approved by the Department of Pesticide Regulation (one hour for laws and one hour other).

Speakers include Pest Management Specialist Roger Baldwin, Environmental Scientist Dave Kratville, and Natural Resource Advice Royce Larsen.
