Employers’ group holding Aug. 13 webinar on worker protection act

The National Council of Agricultural Employers (NCAE) will hold the next installment of its educational webinar series. “Yes – MSPA Still Matters!” on Aug. 13. It will be hosted by Josh Viau, partner with FisherPhillips LLP.

“While there are exclusions from the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act (MSPA) coverage even for U.S. workers, this law contains special definitions, disclosure requirements and other obligations worth knowing about. As of January 15, 2020, MSPA fines were increased to $2,549 per violation,” Viau said. “This webinar will cover these exclusions and coverages and alert you as to whether you need to take a close look at your operation’s compliance.”

The “Yes – MSPA Still Matters!” webinar featuring Mr. Viau is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT. Registration will be limited to the first 100 participants.

Participants will be eligible to receive one Professional Development Credit from the Society for Human Resource Management upon completion of the course.

Nigel Bocanegra, Manager of Association Services for NCAE noted, “We expect this webinar to quickly hit capacity, so folks should register as soon as possible.”
