FPAA promotes Moore to vice president

The Fresh Produce Association of the Americas has promoted Allison Moore to vice president, effective immediately.

In her new role, Moore will assume more leadership and responsibility in day-to-day operations of the FPAA, which represents more than 100 companies involved in the importation and distribution of fresh produce from Mexico.

“Allison continues to prove her value to the FPAA,” said FPAA President Lance Jungmeyer. “As an example, Allison’s experience in recognizing and solving everyday border crises such as system delays with Customs or FDA makes her extremely important to the industry. Paying attention to the nuts and bolts of border crossings helps keep companies operating efficiently.”

Recently, Moore has been active in areas of food safety, transportation hours of service and agriculture quality inspections.

“I am surrounded by intelligent, committed, passionate people that I get to work with on a daily basis, whether it’s coworkers, our members, peers in other trade associations, or government officials,” said Moore.  “How can you beat working with and learning from so many people on issues ranging from local infrastructure projects to food safety to international trade?  Solving problems and helping people are really the foundations of my job, and I love that.”

Moore, previously director of legislative and regulatory affairs, joined FPAA as communications director in 2001. She will continue to work closely with Jungmeyer and senior leadership on government-related issues.

Moore is active in industry councils and committees such as the United Fresh Food Safety & Technology Council, the Greater Nogales Santa Cruz County Port Authority, Arizona Mexico Commission, Nogales Economic Development Foundation and Nogales Community Development.

Moore has a master’s degree from the University of Arizona, as well as a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
