New e-commerce platform streamlines 1-MCP purchases for U.S. apple growers

Fresh Inset Solutions has launched a new e-commerce platform that allows U.S. apple growers, packing houses and cold-storage operators to purchase the company’s MaTri 1-MCP postharvest treatments online while also accessing treatment planning tools.

According to a press release from Fresh Inset Solutions, the platform includes online ordering, product dosage calculations and treatment planning resources designed to help users determine the appropriate amount of product needed for cold-storage applications.

A key feature of the platform is the DoseRight Calculator, which calculates recommended product quantities based on the dimensions of a cold-storage room. The company said the tool is intended to simplify treatment planning and ordering while reducing the potential for dosing errors during harvest and storage operations.

The MaTri product line includes a water-soluble 1-MCP formulation designed for postharvest treatment. Fresh Inset said the product is compatible with its MaTri Generator system and can also complement dynamic controlled atmosphere (DCA) storage programs by helping maintain fruit firmness and freshness during storage and distribution.

The online platform enables growers to calculate product requirements, place orders and access technical information through a single website. Fresh Inset said technical support from its postharvest specialists will continue to be available for growers seeking guidance on treatment programs, storage conditions and product selection.
