International Strawberry Symposium goes to hybrid format

The ninth annual International Strawberry Symposium to be held May 1-4, 2021, in Rimini, Italy, will be held in a hybrid format.

The Symposium’s organizers made the following announcement Oct. 5.

“In light of the rising number of COVID-19 infections in Europe and globally, travel restrictions remaining or coming into force and existing hygiene concepts only permitting events with a limited number of participants, we decided to organize the ninth annual International Strawberry Symposium  in a hybrid format. This means that participants can either attend it physically in Rimini or online.

The congress Venue is equipped with all the safety measures and strictly adopts the anti COVID-19 restrictions. For further info please visit https://en.riminipalacongressi.it/organize/services/ieg-safe-business

The online platform will include plenary sessions, parallel sessions, poster area, industry exhibition and chat rooms.

Delegates have the option to hold either pre-recorded or on-line presentations. All presentations and posters will be available on-demand thus do not necessarily need to be followed livestream.

Further to the registration fees, it will be available a reduced fee for each registration category for the online attendance.

We are convinced that we made the right decision to make the symposium successful in this precarious time and trust that going hybrid we can continue to count on your participation.

Further information will be provided shortly on our website.

We thank all the authors who have already sent the manuscripts of their presentations. For these manuscripts we have already started the refereeing process. Although this, following the many requests received, we have postponed the deadline for submitting manuscripts to Oct. 30, 2020.”
