Michigan State University Extension hosts Restricted Use Pesticide Workshop

A Restricted Use Pesticide Workshop for private and commercial applicators will be held Wednesday, March 9, at the Berrien County MSU Extension office, 1737 Hillandale Road, Benton Harbor, MI.

Registration, along with refreshments begins at 8 a.m. The pest management review will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Pesticide Applicator Core Training Manual is available online or from the MSU Extension office for $30.00 plus tax at the MSU Extension Bookstore. A fee of $25.00 covers the review session given by Michigan State University Extension staff. Fee can be paid in advance by cash or check payable to MSU.

An open exam period is scheduled in which all private and commercial exams will be administered by Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) staff from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 pm. MDARD procedures require that applicants pay a separate exam fee ($50.00 private; $75.00 commercial) by check or money order – no cash – at exam site. Identification and renewal notices (for recertification exams) are also needed in order to take the test. No exams will be given after 2:00 p.m.
