Public hearings to discuss pesticide use

In July, the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) will conduct three public hearings to discuss the new proposed regulation for a statewide notification system regarding the application of restricted material pesticides.

The objective of these hearings is to provide the public with advance notice about pesticide use.

The hearings are scheduled for:

  • Friday, July 12, in Stanislaus County, tentatively in Turlock
  • Monday, July 15, held virtually on Zoom
  • Tuesday, July 23, in Kern County, tentatively in Wasco

All hearings will take place from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Spanish interpretation will be available at each session.

DPR seeks public participation and feedback on the proposed regulation.

“Our goal is to protect human health and the environment by ensuring transparency and safety in pesticide use,” a DPR email on the event stated.
