Respirator Fit Test Trainer Course scheduled for Feb. 18 in Washington state

The Washington State Tree Fruit Association, in cooperation with the Washington State Department of Agriculture, will hold a Respirator Fit Test Train the Trainer Course on Feb. 18 in Wenatchee, Washington.

This workshop is designed for employers, supervisors or designated pesticide trainers, respirator program administrators, or any individual overseeing respiratory protection for the application of pesticide products. Course participants will receive information on how to become effective respirator trainers of pesticide handlers, and how to perform proper respirator fit testing. Four (4) pesticide recertification credits are offered in this course.

The training is comprised of three training modules including an outdoor practice of the fit-test protocol that allows participants to practice fit-testing procedures. In order to fully participate in all respirator exercises, participants must provide proof of current respirator medical evaluation. Respirator seal check and fit testing exercises can be conducted only with people who have medical clearance to wear a tight seal respirator.

Full payment of the registration fee ($60) must be made at the time of registration.  The Registration fee is non-refundable. Proof of current respirator medical evaluation will be requested at time of registration.

The event will follow the state requirements and CDC Guidelines for social distancing and a mask will be required at all times during the course.
