Survey examines COVID-19 impact on Washington farms and ranches

Washington State University is collaborating with the University of Washington and the Washington State Department of Agriculture to survey the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on farms and ranches in Washington state.

The Washington State Farm Resilience Survey examines farms’ status before the pandemic, challenges and adaptations in 2020, and hopes and concerns for the coming year. Respondents will not be asked to provide specific numbers, and participation is anonymous.

The survey runs through Dec. 31, 2020, and is open to all farm and ranch owners and operators over age 18.

Results will be made public to help inform recovery and find strategies to strengthen the resilience of Washington agriculture.

Laura Lewis, Food Systems Program Director, leads the survey effort at WSU.

The Washington State Farm Resilience Survey can be found here, in English.

A Spanish language survey is also available online.
