“We are thrilled to add Umlor Orchard to our Michigan Apple program,” said Brian Coates, vice president for Applewood Fresh. “Their addition aligns perfectly with our customer growth needs.”

Umlor Orchards, a family-run business in Conklin, Mich., has been operated by the Umlor family for over three generations, dating back to 1958.

“By forming this relationship with Applewood Fresh, we will improve our packing capabilities,” said Vince Umlor, president of Umlor Orchards. “Applewood Fresh can help us grow in the marketplace.”

The partnership includes fruit from farms in Conklin, Hart and Shelby areas, covering 350+ acres of apples like Honeycrisp, Gala and Fuji. Applewood gains additional packing capacity and storage with 14 controlled-atmosphere rooms.

Recently acquired by FirstFruits Farms in Washington state, Applewood is now part of a multi-regional apple supply system, offering growth opportunities to its combined customer base.
