Cherry Industry Administrative Board Board 2022 election set

The following seats on the Cherry Industry Administrative Board (CIAB) are up for election this winter for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2022, with the exception of the handler alternate seat in Northern Michigan.  This seat is currently vacant with the term expiring on June 30, 2023, the elected nominee will complete the current term.

Central MI                 Grower Member and Alternate

NY                              At-Large Member and Alternate

According to a CIAB news release, “nominations and votes are important to the industry.  Please watch for election materials which will be mailed to growers and emailed to handlers starting the week of Jan. 9, 2022. “

The entire board election process is currently scheduled to be completed in early April.

“We look forward to your participation in the election of CIAB representatives,” the news release stated. “The CIAB seeks diversity on the board. It encourages the nomination of candidates who will expand the diversity of the board. Such candidates may be women, minorities and persons with a disability.  Please keep this in mind when making your nominations for CIAB representation.”
