Empire State Producers Expo recordings now available

Pass the time waiting for winter to turn to spring with new educational videos. Recordings from the 2022 Empire State Producers Expo are now available on the Cornell School of Integrative Plant Science’s YouTube page.

The annual conference is organized by the New York State Vegetable Growers Association and Cornell Cooperative Extension and, due to the pandemic, was held virtually this year. The Expo brings together fruit, vegetable, and direct marketing associations from across the state and region for an industry-wide trade show an educational conference. This year’s virtual conference boasted 27 sessions, serving grower needs, with some mainstays, like weed management, IPM, and greenhouse management.

This included Soil Health Sessions organized by Cornell Small Farms Program’s Reduced Tillage project. Together, farmers and researchers shared the latest trials and experiences with mulching, tarping and high-residue, overwintering cover crop management across a range of crops, from soybeans and dry beans to vegetable transplants and potatoes.
