End of an era: 2026 Farmers’ Almanac will be its last
A storied publication for farmers and home gardeners is closing its doors. Learn why and secure your piece of U.S. agriculture history.

The 2026 Farmers’ Almanac is one you’ll want to hang onto as a collector’s item. That’s because editor Sandy Duncan and editor emeritus Peter Geiger have announced this coming year’s publication will be its final edition after over 200 years.
According to a statement emailed to The Associated Press and NBC’s The Today Show, the editorial duo cites “growing financial challenges” and today’s “chaotic media environment” as the main reasons for shuttering the folksy, homespun annual mix of weather insights, gardening tips and natural home remedies.
“Readers now access information and answers differently, and the trajectory of newsstand sales made this decision necessary,” said Duncan in the emailed statement.
