Nichino America announces management appointments

Nichino America Inc., which specializes in crop protection products for the specialty crop industry, has announced new appointments to the company.

The Wilmington, Delaware, company manufactures and sells weed, insect and disease control products, as well as defoliation and desiccation products.

The appointments become effective June 1.

Jeffrey Johnson — chairman and CEO

In addition to his current position as CEO, Johnson has been named chairman of Nichino America Inc. (NAI). He also will continue as managing executive officer of Nihon Nohyaku Company Ltd., the parent company of NAI, with responsibilities for leading the Global Strategy Project Team for the Nichino Group Cos.

 

Johnson joined Nichino Group in 1997 as commercial development manager of Nihon Nohyaku America, the predecessor company of NAI. He was named vice president of the newly formed NAI in 2001, and became president the following year. Johnson was appointed president and CEO of NAI in 2021.

 

 

Dustin Simmons — president

Simmons has been appointed president, and will continue to report to Johnson. He joined NAI in 2008 and has had various positions in sales, marketing and business development. In 2017, Simmons was promoted to director of business development and strategic planning — Canada, Mexico and the U.S.

 

In 2020, Simmons was instrumental in the successful establishment of Nichino México, a NAI subsidiary, and was appointed its director de negocios. In 2021, he was promoted to his current position as commercial vice president, responsible for overseeing business development (third party licensing) for U.S., Canada and México, marketing, strategic planning and the México subsidiary business.

 

Amanda Carson — director of national sales

Carson has been promoted to director of national sales and will report to the vice president of sales. She joined NAI in 2016 as technical sales representative for the northeast territory, achieving a significant increase in sales.

 

She was promoted to product manager in 2018 and was recognized for successfully launching two new products during her time in marketing. In 2021, Carson rejoined the sales team when she was promoted to her current position as east/central region manager.

 

 

Christina Dubas — director of regulatory and scientific affairs

Dubas has been promoted to director of regulatory and scientific affairs, and will report to the vice president of regulatory and scientific affairs. She joined the company in 2017 as manager of regulatory and scientific affairs.

 

Dubas has been an integral player in managing regulatory and scientific issues related to active ingredients and formulated products in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. With her vast global, North America and state regulatory experience, she was promoted to senior manager regulatory and scientific affairs in 2022.
