Nominations for Young Apple Leaders sought by USApple

The U.S. Apple Association (USApple) is seeking nominations for its USApple Young Apple Leaders program.

Young apple growers who are at the start of their career through approximately age 35 are eligible to participate. Those involved in apple packing, shipping, marketing, research, and other areas are also encouraged to join the program.

The Young Apple Leaders program provides an opportunity to learn from peers and apple leaders from around the country as well as:

  • Provide orientation, understanding, and encouragement in public policy issues affecting the apple business.
  • Foster fellowship and cooperative working relationships across U.S. apple-growing regions through discussions about key apple industry issues, trends, research, and other activities.
  • Identify and develop future leaders for the apple industry.

At least ten young growers from the apple industry will be selected to participate in the 2018 Young Apple Leaders Program. They will attend USApple’s Capitol Hill Day and the association’s other apple meetings in Washington, D.C., in March 2018.

The Class of 2018 applications are due Dec. 31, 2017 and the application is available for download.
