Northwest Cider Association launches Cidermaker’s Toolkit

Cidermakers Toolkit
The Cidermaker’s Toolkit is an online industry resource for cidermakers.

The Northwest Cider Association (NWCA) has launched the Cidermaker’s Toolkit, a resource website for cidermakers. Like Wikipedia, it is a resource and a living document that will change over time, the NWCA said. The toolkit is intended to answer questions from both newcomers to the industry and longtime veteran cidermakers.

The toolkit provides information on apples, equipment, fruit processing, compliance, shop cleaning, packaging and more. User can make an account and submit information and links. The association is currently seeking contributors for essay entries or link submissions.

All entries will be vetted before posting to verify their accuracy and content. After five vetted submissions, authors will be given instant access to post on the Cidermaker’s Toolkit, the NWCA said.

The project was paid in part by a Specialty Crop Block Grant funding awarded through the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
