Organic Produce Summit names keynote speaker

Sponsors of the Organic Produce Summit (OPS) have announced the show’s keynote speaker.

Nicholas Bertram, president and chief executive officer of Flashfood, is scheduled to deliver the keynote speech at the July 10-11 conference at the Monterey Conference Center in Monterey, California.

Flashfood is an app to help consumers find grocery deals.

“One-third of our nation’s food supply goes unsold or uneaten, and $428 billion worth of food goes to waste every year. Nicholas Bertram … is on a mission to feed families and not the landfill,” organizers said in a news release. “Attend his keynote presentation at Organic Produce Summit this July to learn about Flash Foods’ collaborations with various retailers and grocers to address this issue.”

The event includes sessions, keynote presentations, a trade show and field tours.

Last year’s show included sessions on preparing for the new Organic Enforcement Rule, sustainability, CEAs, retail organic merchandising, as well as a retailer roundtable on the future of fresh produce and grocery marketing.

As the only event dedicated exclusively to bringing together producers and buyers of the organic fresh produce industry, OPS 2024 will follow the overwhelming success of previous OPS events and retain a similar format. In addition to an informative series of educational sessions, engaging keynote presentations and a sold-out trade show floor featuring more than 170 organic growers, shippers, and processors, retailers and buyers will have a hands-on opportunity to tour three respected organic fresh produce companies.

Early bird pricing ends March 31.

Complete details of OPS 2024 will be announced over the next several months. General attendee registration for OPS 2024 will open Feb. 6.

This is the eighth annual OPS.
