Romney, Ryan to stop at Mich. orchard Friday

Miit Romney and Paul Ryan made their first visit to Michigan at Long's Orchard in Commerce, Mich.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, will hold a campaign rally Friday in Oakland County.

The pair will speak around noon at Long Family Orchard, Farm and Cider Mill in Commerce Township.

Even before doors were to open at 9:30 a.m., roughly 100 people turned out an hour early at the cider mill as security from Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and others were sweeping the area with metal detectors and dogs.
