Organic Produce Network (OPN) has released its second annual State of Organic Produce report, which provides a comprehensive overview of how the industry performed last year, including data and analysis of retail sales of organic fresh produce.
The newly published report includes information related to:
The year-over-year growth of organic fresh produce compared to conventional
Region-specific organic produce performance
The top 20 organic produce items (by sales dollars)
Additionally, the report contains retailer and wholesaler comments on organic fresh produce performance in 2021 and a review of last year’s Organic Produce Summit (OPS) and Organic Grower Summit (OGS).
“Organic produce continues to take center stage in leading overall produce sales and volume gains. Over the past two years, consumers have made a clear connection regarding their personal health and the role of organic fresh produce. And as the data clearly shows, organic produce is – and will remain – a key driver of retail sales,” said Tonya Antle, co-founder of Organic Produce Network.
Working with Category Partners, a strategic data analysis and insights company, OPN provided three quarterly updates of organic fresh produce sales throughout the past year. State of Organic Produce 2021 provides a deeper dive into last year’s top 20 organic fresh produce items (by sales).
The 64-page report also includes commentary from several of the organic industry’s major trade organizations and associations, highlighting their work in promoting and protecting the integrity of organic fresh produce.
In addition to the downloadable version of the report, hard copies are being mailed to over 1,000 retailers. For further information about the report, please contact OPN at [email protected] or (831) 884-5058.
