EPA approves Sym-Agro’s CINNEX fungicide-insecticide for 93 crops
Sym-Agro has received EPA registration for CINNEX fungicide-insecticide for use on 93 crops in the United States, excluding California, where registration is expected for the 2027 growing season, according to a press release from the company.

The product contains the cinnamaldehyde active ingredient and is designed for use against fungal diseases and insect pests in crops including grapes, citrus, pome fruit, stone fruit, berries, tree nuts, hops and vegetables. According to the company, CINNEX can be used as part of integrated pest management (IPM) and resistance management programs and is exempt from maximum residue limits (MRLs). The product also can be applied up to the day of harvest.
Sym-Agro said CINNEX targets diseases including powdery mildew, Botrytis and Monilinia, along with insect pests such as aphids, psyllids and caterpillars. The company said the product has both preventative and curative activity and is labeled for tank mixing with conventional crop protection products.
CINNEX is classified in FRAC Group BM03 and IRAC Group UNE. Sym-Agro said the product uses multiple modes of action to help manage disease and insect resistance.
Peter Bierma, president of Sym-Agro, said the company developed the product using more than 15 years of experience working with cinnamaldehyde-based crop protection products.
The company said CINNEX also has approved labels for home and garden, turf and ornamental, postharvest and seed treatment uses.
