Tour of Western New York Cider Operations set for June 14

The Cornell Hard Cider Program Work Team and the New York Cider Association have announced that on June 14 it will offer an exclusive tour of commercial cider operations across western New York.

This event offers a unique opportunity to explore the region’s vibrant cider industry, with visits to notable cideries such as Clarksburg Cider, Becker Farms, Donovan Orchard Ciders and Steampunk Cider.

Participants will gain insights from producers on their strategies for agri-entertainment, cider production and cider apple cultivation. Additionally, Extension specialists and researchers from Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) and Cornell University will share the latest research on cider apple varieties, orchard management, and mechanical harvesting techniques.

This tour is designed for anyone interested in the intersection of agriculture and entertainment, as well as those keen on understanding the intricacies of cider production from apple to bottle.
