USDA helps veterans pursuing farming careers
“NIFA is committed to supporting military veterans who want to pursue careers in agriculture,” said NIFA Director Scott Angle. “AgVets funded projects will give our veterans the tools they need to be successful farmers and ranchers, ultimately preserving and strengthening our rural communities.”
These AgVets projects will increase the number of military veterans gaining knowledge and skills through comprehensive, hands-on, and immersive model farm and ranch programs offered regionally that lead to successful careers in the food and agricultural sector. The program encourages the development of training opportunities specifically designed for military veterans.
